Whom to call for a job

At Trinayani we design and conduct workshops to sensitize the employers and workforce to Include, employ and effectively communicate with persons with disabilities but are not directly working towards providing jobs to PWDs.

Employment is a critical element of independent living and it is a primary aspiration of people with disabilities in India too. At Trinayani we believe that every Citizen of our country needs to bring something to the economy and has an equal right to live with dignity. Considered as a minority group, the treatment PWDs receive at times results from the attitude–often unfounded or based on incorrect stereotypes – which employers hold toward them.

We facilitate the inclusion of PWDs in mainstream employment only by attempting to change the mindsets and preconceived notions of employers towards disability.

Recently Parliament hiked the job quota to 4% and increased the number of recognised disabilities to 21, which include acid attack and Parkinson’s disease. The Government would also be introducing a ‘Universal Identity Card for the Disabled’ to enable the disabled to avail benefits without any hitch.

Candidates seeking jobs should visit the link for Special Recruitment Drive to Fill Up the Vacancies for PwDs on the webpage of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan)
